Day 313: From the outside looking in.

Everyday can't be a winner, but I loved the stairs coming through the window

Day 312: Let there be light

I took this during a break from my Web Design 2 class.

Day 311: Lieutenant

We have a cemetery loaded with veterans of the civil war.  We have a section that is Union, a section that is Confederate.  This one was kind of off by itself, with a low profile.   I wonder if there is a reason for that.

Day 309: PINK

I found  a pink beauty in a sea of dying flowers.

Day 308: Abandoned

The first week of school hasn't even been completed and already lunch boxes and book bags are abandoned in the school yard.

Day 307: Where do I begin?

Well, this is my evening.  Where do I begin?

Day 306: iPhone sunset

It cooled off enough to brave truly exercising this evening.  I went with my bike and went almost 10 miles around the lake - I did it in record time for me, but poor time for the crazies passing me like bullets.  I did the nine point something miles in just under 50 minutes.  I didn't take my camera, but I did have my original iPhone incarnation with the giant 1 mega pixel camera.  This is what I got coming around the back stretch.  (I said back stretch - Hee Hee!)

Day 305: Shoes tied and ready to go

Overwhelming day for me today.  1st day of school for my boys & me.  I not only had a day class, but a 4 hour night class tonight.  I'm exhausted, but I did get a shot in this morning.

Day 303: From Above

Yesterday, I spent hours & hours making this "spaceship" out of K'Nex.  If you have boys you will know what I'm talking about.  This turned out kind of fun.

Day 301: A Two-Fer

Today's theme was something blue.  He waited till I took the picture before he flew off.  But because you know my craziness for spiders, I can't help but post this one as well.

Scary isn't he.  He's an Orbweaver.  We looked it up.  He would stretch out as big or bigger than my whole hand.  ~shivers~

Day 300: Windmill

I truly can't believe I've made it to day 300.

Day 299: sky

Nothing really screamed at me today.  I took a picture of a duck that didn't have the top part of his beak. That was kinda gross - I mean have you ever seen an unprotected duck tongue?  It is not pretty.  I took the kids feeding the ducks - Meh.  I liked the sky with the sun behind the cloud, but it still wasn't my favorite.

So, here's today's shot.

Day 295: Ouch

I found this in the middle of nowhere across a dirt road from a cemetery.

Day 294: USAF

I do love a man in uniform.....

Day 293: Sun-kissed

I've been trying to take this web since the beginning of summer.  I've posted the spider before and I can't believe this guys been beside my parent's backdoor the entire summer, but finally, I got my shot.

Day 292: Sun-dried Tomato

After arriving at my parents house, my kids and I ran around the backyard.  E went to the tomato bed and said "Mom, there's nothing here but sun-dried tomatoes."   It was the laugh of the day, it might a well be the photo of the day.

Day 291: Fountain

This is my favorite fountain, or water feature at The Dallas Arboretum.  Its surrounded by crepe myrtle trees and the blooms, with a little help from the wind, always add color.  I could get lost in the spirals.

Day 290: Still Water

I love this little creek & the bridges over it even more.  I had perfectly still water and got an amazing reflection off of it.

Day 288: Plow

And so ends my week of B&W.  I love old tractors, tractor parts and farm equipment.  Nothing better to end a week of B&W photography.  Hope you enjoyed.

Day 287: Beware of Dog

I wonder if this is the most used security sign in the world.  I walked down the alley behind my street and this was on the back gate.  Not a bark to be heard, but the light was interesting.

Day 286: Mixed Pair

I figured it was only fair that if I take a picture of one kid, I should force the other to pose too.  I'm slightly obsessed with the Lightroom preset I've used here for portraits.  ADB_High Key Portrait (B&W) just in case you are interested.  I then took out all the fill light to give a little more definition.

Also if you had this in front of you - could you not want it on film.  H2 started some eye-drops today.  We could have some fun with this phenomenon.

Day 285: Black & White Portrait

Well, I can't do a week of black & white without  including a portrait.  This is my oldest boy & surprisingly a willing model for me today.

This picture reminds me of the phrase "the eyes are the windows to the soul".

Day 284: Stump

I challenged David Abbishaw to a week of color photography.  So I am shooting a week of Black & White.  Its the least I can do.
