I have this lens....

You guys who know me, know about "the lens".  My dad "lent" it to me a while back and I don't think he's ever getting it back.  Anyway, I went out to see if I could get the supernova - but look what I got instead.  The craters for some reason were so pronounced in the moon's current rotation.  I absolutely love this shot.

I'm not sure if it is really more super than the night before - please compare - that's why I took a before picture.  Used the same lens - no cropping on either.  I just love me that 1000mm lens on days like this.

AFTERNOON DELIGHT

So I have this lens...

So I have this wonderful 1000mm lens that was my dad's back in the 70's that he used to use to shoot windsurfers from the sea wall.  I put it on the camera last night to take pictures of the eclipse, and it was not working right.  It seems the connector ring is loose and the camera was wobbly on the lens and I couldn't get a great in-focus shot of the full eclipse.

Then in the middle of my frustrations last night ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE in my neighborhood at 2:30 AM mind you and while I thought it was a high speed chase, I went out front to look - every rescue vehicle was running down the main street.  A house burned down.  This close to Christmas.  I feel horrible for the family.

Day 128: Another Moon Shot

 

Yes, I again took out my 1000mm lens and took pictures of the moon.  I guarantee that I take other shots than the moon with it, but my friend & fellow photographer Mark Florence threw out a "go get the moon" to me, so I did.  Turned out pretty good.  I highly recommend checking out Mark's photos.  They are amazing.

Day 71: Blue Moon

Today is the end of a decade, and a year I'm not sad to see go.  But to welcome in the New Year & decade we have a beautiful Blue Moon.  Welcome 2010, may you bring everyone something a little better.
