Day 318: Testing, 1, 2

My mother brought me a box from her closet for my birthday.  I'm sure you are all jumping for joy - I mean who doesn't want a box of stuff that has been sitting in the closet at the folks house for 25 years.  Let me tell you what was in that box:

  • Nikon 50mm 1.8f lens with a sky 1a filter on it.
  • Tamron Adaptall 2 80/210mm F3.8-4 Tele Macro lens with a leather case
  • Soligor Close-up lens kit +1, +2 & +3 with a pretty leather case
  • 80A Blue Filter which Converts daylight film for use with a 3200K lamps (since I'm not using film this I think will be a cooling filter)
  • There is some flashes including a slave flash, but I haven't gotten there yet.
All of this was for film camera, but it makes it all the more fun to stick it on a DSLR.  This was what I ended up with after 5 minutes with the 50mm & the +2 filter.

More testing to come, don't judge me on my first attempts.

Day 146: A story

The boys and I went for a walk.

We saw some beautiful things.

The Bluebonnets were up, but not quite blooming.

It's St. Patrick's Day.

They threw some rocks into the stock tank.

Upon reflection.....

It was a beautiful spring day.

Day 144: Don't freak out. Yes, I these are people.

Its Spring Break and I have 5 days with my boys.  I asked for a quick walk, they complained as soon as we got 6 feet away from the car and began asking if we could go home.  I tortured them for about 30 minutes before I turned around.  E is on the top only because  I took that picture first, H2, well, I'm sure he always feels like he comes in second, but he has a spark in his eye that no one can beat.  It's like he always knows a secret or what's about to happen.

I'm looking forward to my 5 uninterrupted days with my boys, although I might need to be medicated afterwards(ha! ha!).  I took some awesome pictures today, I think I'll have to go back and take a few more so I can use them tomorrow.  These were by far the closest to my heart.

Day 112: Snow Day

Thursday morning, a transformer blew in my neighborhood and left me and my boys without power.  I went up to the school to warm up before the kids got out of school and found the school to be without power too.  So I got the kids out of class an hour early and we went to the park.  While this picture looks beautiful and white - we had at least 6 more inches fall before it was over and pretty much a foot of snow.  White powdery fluffy snow.  The fun kind - we don't get that in Texas very often.

This was seriously taken less than 24 hours after the last picture.  Unbelievable.
