INTO THE MIST

Fun shot to take. The fog was so thick this morning I could barely get the kids to school - this was taken at 11 AM and the fog still hadn't cleared off the lake. Made for a nice stark shot.

Year 2 - Day 35

WHITE ROCK CREEK

After 5 inches of snow overnight and it's still coming down, we took off for a little sledding down Flag Pole Hill.  On the way way back we stopped and took a pictures of frozen White Rock Creek.  A sight not often found in Dallas.

GREY

It is the best word to describe today. I woke up to rain dripping off the roof, went to work in fog and came home in fog.  Dreary, dreary, dreary.

Year 2 - Day 11

Today was 1-11-11.  It really didn't hit me until now that I should have done something with the calendar or a clock or something.  I guess it goes to show you its just a number and not some cataclysmic or mystic thing.  Or maybe I'm missing something BIG, who knows.  All I know is I was outside in below freezing temps with single digit wind chills (or really close) when I took this.  My toes and fingers are still not warm.

Year 2 - Day 10

COLD MORNING

It was 28 degrees when I dropped off the kids at school this morning.  Snow covered the grass and the rooftops, but the roads that I drove were mostly clear.  I stopped by the lake and a huge group of birds were on the lake and the closer I got to the water the faster they cleared out.  I love the old filter building and with the snow on the ground & rooftop next to it, it was the day to take this shot.  Its one I've taken before, but I truly love the view around the lake.

Year 2-Day 8

Straight out of the camera.  I love, love, love to post pictures straight from the camera.  It doesn't happen often, but sometimes, it happens right.  The vision of what you see and what you take are one.  I was going to take the sunset, but the sunset well didn't pan out.  But my favorite unbalanced tree was waiting for me as always.  I could watch the sunset from this view every day.

November 1st

Today was the most beautiful day & the professor of my Digital Imaging class canceled class for the day so I spent it at the Arboretum.

Day 332: Sunday Afternoon

I don't usually post-process this much, but while I was totally going overboard when my husband walked in and said how much he liked it.  Hmm.  So I posted it.

Day 321: Not this way.

Well, I guess I won't go this way.  The city has gotten a ton of rain, and while I don't know the specifics I do know that there are 8+ inches in the big rubbermaid container on the patio (I emptied it yesterday around 7 pm).  Don't worry, I'm not floating away or grabbing the life jackets, this section always floods - hence the gate - but it does make for a dramatic picture doesn't it?

Day 317: Fire Water

Combine color & water, that's what the daily shoot wanted.  Hmmm.....I had this or a glass of kool-aid.  I think I made the better choice.  Also, except for a slight crop - unedited.

Day 291: Fountain

This is my favorite fountain, or water feature at The Dallas Arboretum.  Its surrounded by crepe myrtle trees and the blooms, with a little help from the wind, always add color.  I could get lost in the spirals.
