Reflections.....

This week's photo challenge was reflections.  Thinking again outside the box, because I just couldn't do a body of water or a mirror, I saw this tombstone and remembered the excellent reflection I got on a previous shoot with my son.  So, I got a friend of mine to do a little modeling for me.  Turned out pretty good.

Year 2 - Day 11

Today was 1-11-11.  It really didn't hit me until now that I should have done something with the calendar or a clock or something.  I guess it goes to show you its just a number and not some cataclysmic or mystic thing.  Or maybe I'm missing something BIG, who knows.  All I know is I was outside in below freezing temps with single digit wind chills (or really close) when I took this.  My toes and fingers are still not warm.

Year 2 - Day 10

COLD MORNING

It was 28 degrees when I dropped off the kids at school this morning.  Snow covered the grass and the rooftops, but the roads that I drove were mostly clear.  I stopped by the lake and a huge group of birds were on the lake and the closer I got to the water the faster they cleared out.  I love the old filter building and with the snow on the ground & rooftop next to it, it was the day to take this shot.  Its one I've taken before, but I truly love the view around the lake.

There were so many pictures I could have posted, but this one made me laugh, and I'm all about a good laugh.

Day 359: Reflections

Day 332: Sunday Afternoon

I don't usually post-process this much, but while I was totally going overboard when my husband walked in and said how much he liked it.  Hmm.  So I posted it.

Day 290: Still Water

I love this little creek & the bridges over it even more.  I had perfectly still water and got an amazing reflection off of it.

Day 273: BOND

I want to say Bond, James Bond, but I don't want to be flippant about the dead.  That would not bring me good Karma I think.  I loved this shot black and white.  I took several that I thought would work for today's photos.  This was not one of them, but sometimes we make our photos in post production.

The one below made me laugh so hard though.  I don't think E meant to have that face in the photo.

Day 257: Looking Up

What a clear reflection and how I managed to get two light flares surprises even me.  Lucky shot I guess.

Day 256: Cowboys' Stadium

Went lots of places today.  I think my husband's favorite was Cowboys' Stadium.  He especially wanted to see the big doors by the end-zones.  Yes, those big things slide open.  How cool is that?

I liked it better in B&W, but my husband preferred color.  What do you think?

Side view:  I loved the way it reflected everything.

Day 218: Reflections

Its not the exact shot I expected when I took them.  I'm not sure if I love it or am disappointed.  The one thing I know is that every day I take a picture I learn something and I every time I learn something I can improve my photos.

Day 213: In the rearview mirror

I have two kids, but you would never know it - one is a much more patient with mother about photos the other just wants to enjoy life.  I hope this one never really grows out of it, because I would truly miss him.

Day 203, The one with the "worn-out" bug

Yes, the bug is dead and not "worn-out" but Theme Thursday is WORN so lets go with its just resting from a long day of whatever it is bugs do.  I actually laid down on the walkway to get this picture - luckily there weren't that many people around.  I did hear a giggle while I was taking it though.

Day 199: The Park

Obviously on a black & white kick.  I loved the difference in texture from color to black & white.  It totally changed the picture for me.

Day 195: The mist

I didn't really do anything fabulous to capture this - just managed to catch the little pond as the misting sprinklers went off.  But somehow I can't help but look for the monster in the depths of the water.

Day 125: Reflections

There is a lot of family involvement in my photos.  Its not just me, because me taking photos takes time out of my family's time; and that is something we don't have a lot of. With me at back at school taking 12 hours and starting this weekend working almost 20 hours a week, plus homework.  You get my drift.  So we can spend a few minutes perusing the photos of the day and talking about what we like, what we don't like and why.  Hopefully it gives my kids and little art education and my husband a little appreciation of it.  

Well this afternoon, my kids and I took off after school to the Dallas Arboretum, took a ton of shots and everyone liked this one.  What we didn't agree on was the processing.  So I'm going to ask you guys.  Which one do you prefer and why.  Don't hesitate to offer your opinion - be specific.  I won't tell you which one I preferred, but I will tell you NO ONE agreed with my processing.
