Day 250: My day in a photo

Ok, this was not my whole day, but pretty much 75% of it.  We picked it up on the way home from the doctor today.  The kids played from the moment we walked in the door.  H2 skipped lunch (although I don't blame him - the doctor totally tortured him this AM) to keep playing. They only stopped for dinner and bed.  The only time I got to play was bath time.

YES, I am completely addicted to the Lego games.  It might be because it is the ONLY game I where I can beat the kids.

Day 243: Experimenting with angles

I was playing with the camera today - woefully uninspired am I.  I think its the 3 day headache (I'm totally blaming it on the heat & humidity).  My husband received this from a dear friend and I never could quiet get it right.  But this is a learning experience right?

Day 215: Pink & Yellow

I'm going to come right out and say I have NO clue what this is.  Its a rare occasion that I find a specimen that is not a bud or 1/2 dead.  My only failure is my inability to tell you what it is.  I will tell you that they are in a water feature and but obviously not your typical lily.  If you know tell me.

I had a meeting at the elementary school this morning and afterwards I didn't hesitate to run over to the Arboretum for a little fun.  I found this little guy eating away and he didn't hesitate to let me get up close and snap his picture.

I'm probably going to be living at the Arboretum for the next week or two.  Its so beautiful.  I found this tulip missing a few petals and I couldn't resist snapping a shot.

Day 131: Brake Pads

I am having the most fun with that 1000mm lens.  I walked all over the front & back yard today.  TONS of macro shots, I was trying to get pictures of these little daylillies that were just peeking through the dirt, but I couldn't get the whole thing in the picture without standing over 25 ft away.  All I got was the acorn top and it took up almost the whole frame. Seriously, the whole frame.  I need to do a little more work on this.  I was surprised at the ridiculous things I could take close up from really far away and if the wind ever dies down, I've got some climbing rose bushes to take.    This is not something you look at everyday - but maybe we can all use it as a reminder to "slow down" a little and enjoy the day.
