Year 2 - Day 17

DEW

I played with the TeleMacro today.  It's an old 35mm lens.  I mostly shoot on manual, but with this I have to adjust shutter & F stops all in my mind.  I can't use A/S/P at all only Manual.  But with the exception of a few shots - the foggy shots I did really well with my relationships in that respect.  I loved the color here and I really loved the change in the veins on the leaf underneath the water drops.  Lots of fun experimenting today - and I met a friend.  Isn't he cute?

Day 349: Starburst

I couldn't think of a better title.  I'm brain dead today.  I went to the lake to try & feel better, ate my lunch on the pier.  Then looked back at the shore to see the beautiful ragweed hugging the shore.  I took this picture and ran indoors.  I still can't breathe.

Day 243: Experimenting with angles

I was playing with the camera today - woefully uninspired am I.  I think its the 3 day headache (I'm totally blaming it on the heat & humidity).  My husband received this from a dear friend and I never could quiet get it right.  But this is a learning experience right?

Day 155: A Diamond

Ok, not a real diamond, but it sparkled like one.  I was sitting outside in the front yard, on a stool my dad made me, listening to the beautiful song of a cardinal.  I looked down and thought what is in that daylily.  It was a water droplet and the sun hit it perfectly.  I wish I could have captured the cardinal's song for you too because it was just as beautiful.

Day 131: Brake Pads

I am having the most fun with that 1000mm lens.  I walked all over the front & back yard today.  TONS of macro shots, I was trying to get pictures of these little daylillies that were just peeking through the dirt, but I couldn't get the whole thing in the picture without standing over 25 ft away.  All I got was the acorn top and it took up almost the whole frame. Seriously, the whole frame.  I need to do a little more work on this.  I was surprised at the ridiculous things I could take close up from really far away and if the wind ever dies down, I've got some climbing rose bushes to take.    This is not something you look at everyday - but maybe we can all use it as a reminder to "slow down" a little and enjoy the day.

Day 96: Ouch

Ouch is an appropriate word for today.  I AM OVERWHELMED with school work, reading mostly.  I am reading a chapter in my web design book about XHTML - talk about dry....Anyway I really like this photo and I desaturated it it and changed with the orange  100% and got the rust to stand out.  So I guess this is dangerous too.  Rusty wires and all.  I know that I said that I would be catching up on my manual etc., but I won't be able to do that until I workout my daily schedule.  The addition of 12 college hours + labs in all 4 classes to my regular schedule have well caused chaos.  I have been seeing tons of images in my digital media class so I'm not behind there, I just can't attribute it to anyone in particular.

Day 74: Fly away..

I was surprised to find this out this late in the year and after so many freezes.  Who knew?  I guess where there is a will there's a way.

Manual: Is still missing so I'm still reading Understanding Exposure
